Electrical Product Developer

Near grid Solutions, based in Zele - BE, is a leading scale-up specialized in the development of innovative battery systems and other solutions that accelerate the energy transition in the building sector. With our advanced technologies, we aim to provide sustainable and efficient electricity supply to our customers on the construction site.

Your role

As Product Developer you play a key role in developing and optimizing our innovative battery systems and other accessories. You translate technical concepts into efficient and reliable electrical designs that meet the high demands of the building and industrial sectors.

You will work closely with the engineering team and external suppliers to design, test and refine electrical subsystems, power electronics and battery management components. You ensure that our products are not only technically performant, but also practical, scalable and reliable in their daily application. You will also monitor the balance between cost efficiency, sustainability and product quality.

Responsibilities

As a Product Developer - Electrical at Near grid Solutions, you will be responsible for:

• The design and optimization of the electrical system of our yard batteries, including battery management, power electronics and electrical safety.
• Coordinate and implement detailed engineering, focusing on cost-effective design that meets Neargrid branding, functionality, reliability and serviceability.
• Selecting and integrating components such as inverters, batteries, charge controllers and protection circuits.
• Preparation of electrical schematics and documentation for production and maintenance.
• Testing and validating new designs to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Supporting commissioning and technical troubleshooting at customer sites.
• Reporting to case managers on progress and technical choices within product development.

Your profile

• A master's degree in electrical engineering, power engineering, electronics or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of power electronics, battery technology and energy management.
• Ability to translate technical requirements into innovative and thoughtful electrical design.
• A strong affinity for engineering and an eye for detail.
• Excellent communication skills and a true team spirit.
• A proactive attitude and the drive to successfully complete projects.
• The motivation to contribute to the energy transition and the growth of a sustainable scale-up.
• Fluent knowledge of Dutch and English; French is a plus.
