Mechanical Product Developer

Near grid Solutions, based in Zele - BE, is a leading scale-up specializing in the development of innovative battery systems and other solutions to accelerate the energy transition in the construction industry. With our advanced technologies, we aim to provide sustainable and efficient electricity supply to our customers on the construction site.

Your role

As Product Developer - Mechanical, you play a key role in the development and optimization of our innovative battery solutions. You will translate technical concepts into robust and efficient designs that meet the high demands of the construction and industrial sectors.

You will work closely with the engineering team and external suppliers to design, test and refine mechanical components and enclosures. You ensure that our products are not only technically performant, but also practical, scalable and reliable in daily application. You will also monitor the balance between cost efficiency, sustainability and production quality.

As a Product Developer - Mechanical at Near grid Solutions, you will be responsible for:

• The mechanical and thermal design of Neargrid site batteries.
• Coordinate and implement detailed engineering, focusing on cost-optimal design that meets Neargrid branding, functionality, reliability and serviceability.
• The implementation of necessary design modifications to ensure the performance and durability of our products.
• Reporting to case managers on progress and technical choices within product development.

Your Profile

• A master's degree in mechanical or electromechanical engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with 3D design packages such as SolidWorks and Inventor for design and detail engineering.
• Knowledge of both machining and non-machining metal operations in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to translate technical requirements into thoughtful design.
• A strong affinity for engineering and an eye for detail.
• Excellent communication skills and a true team spirit.
• A proactive attitude and the drive to successfully complete projects.
• The motivation to contribute to the energy transition and the growth of a sustainable scale-up.
• Fluent knowledge of Dutch and English; French is a plus.
