Your role

As a Product Developer, you are responsible for developing, improving, and validating battery systems and services for our customers within the Neargrid ecosystem. Supporting customers is an integral part of this role: not as a traditional service function, but as a way to stay in touch with the end application, real-life usage scenarios, and specific customer needs. You translate the insights you gain into better designs and more robust systems.

Your responsibilities

Product development & engineering (core focus)

· Developing, improving, and optimizing existing and new battery systems and associated asset management and energy management services

· Supervising and managing the design cycle from functional design to detailed engineering,

· Defining and implementing control software where necessary

· Improving existing designs with a focus on reliability, scalability, and serviceability

· Monitoring and coordinating design modifications with suppliers

· Evaluating and integrating new components and subsystems

Testing & validation

· Performing tests to validate new designs

· Validating existing systems to determine whether they can be incorporated into the Neargrid ecosystem

· Analyzing and documenting test results

· Contributing to decisions regarding product and system architecture

Technical support (feedback from practice)

· Supporting customers with technical problems on site

· Analyzing malfunctions and system behavior in real-world conditions

· Feedback from practical experience to design and development teams

· Collaborate on structural solutions instead of ad hoc fixes

Innovation & technology

· Actively monitoring new technologies and market developments

· Evaluating their applicability in existing and new products

· Contributing ideas about future product and system roadmaps

Your profile

· Mid-level profile with 3–5 years of relevant experience (more experience is certainly welcome)

· Technical background (electrical engineering, electromechanics, automation, energy, or equivalent)

· Strong analytical skills and a hands-on approach

· Interest in the entire product life cycle: from concept to deployment on site

· Willing to travel internationally, mainly within Europe

· Fluent knowledge of Dutch and English; knowledge of other European languages is a plus
