Neargrid brings Benelux customers and partners together at its first Community Event in the Flemish Ardennes
On the slopes of the Oude Kwaremont, Neargrid brought together BENELUX customers, partners, and stakeholders for the first time at an exclusive Community Event. It was, first and foremost, a relaxed gathering, but one where conversations naturally turned to a shared challenge in the industry: how can we make construction sites reliable, electric, and future-proof without relying on diesel or grid constraints?
The location was chosen deliberately. The Flemish Ardennes symbolize character, resilience, and forward thinking, exactly the qualities needed today in a construction sector facing pressure from grid congestion, emissions regulations, and rising energy costs.

From niche to industry leader in six years
Since its founding, Neargrid has grown from a pioneer to a leading player in the Benelux region.
- operating in 6 countries
- Over 160 companies rely on Neargrid
- more than 1.9 million operating hours without interruption
That growth isn't due to marketing, but to one thing:
systems that do what they're supposed to do, even under the toughest conditions.
Customers choose Neargrid because:
- downtime costs are avoided
- energy becomes predictable
- total cost is lower than diesel
- implementation remains simple (plug-and-play)
Electrification is no longer just a vision. It’s a reality.
One thing became clear during the event:
the industry has passed the tipping point.
- Zero-emission construction sites will become mandatory
- CO₂ reduction is a key factor in procurement
- Diesel is losing its economic rationale
The question is no longer whether companies will make the switch.
The question is: who will be late to the party.

From product to ecosystem
Neargrid deliberately positions itself not as a product supplier, but as an energy partner for the construction site.
The next step is clear:
1. Circular model
- longer system lifespan
- upgrades instead of replacement
- Support for the secondhand market
- ongoing service and monitoring
2. Open ecosystem
In collaboration with:
- contractors
- rental partners
- technology partners
Goal: faster scaling, less risk for the customer
Smart energy is becoming the new standard
One of the most important announcements made during the event:
Neargrid is actively developing tools for energy management on construction sites, including:
- energy planner (simulate consumption and ROI in advance)
- real-time energy management
- peak and capacity optimization
This transforms energy from a cost center into a controllable variable within the project. Tower cranes are the biggest energy consumers on the construction site, and they require special attention. This is where Neargrid’s expertise lies
The bottom line: construction companies don't want to manage energy
What contractors really want is simple:
build
meet deadlines
protect margins
Don't worry about:
- fuel deliveries
- voltage issues
- network restrictions
That is where Neargrid's true value lies:
Energy becomes invisible, but 100% reliable
Building tomorrow’s shipyard together
The Community Event confirmed what is already evident in the market:
The transition to electric construction sites is not happening on an individual basis, but collectively.
By bringing together customers, partners, and technology, Neargrid is building an ecosystem in which:
- knowledge is shared
- risks decrease
- adoption is accelerating

Conclusion
The construction industry is changing rapidly.
But one thing remains constant: without a reliable power supply, everything comes to a standstill
Neargrid positions itself exactly where it counts:
as the provider that guarantees reliability—no diesel, no hassle, no compromises.
And as the Kwaremont beer we shared together so aptly puts it:
the taste of victory.
